Summer Events

It's only May, but it feels like summer already! Here are our upcoming events for the season:

Migratory Bird Day will be Saturday, May 19th, to celebrate and bring attention to one of the most important and spectacular events - bird migration.

We will be featuring the Swallow-tailed Kite - this species makes a spectacular 3,000+ mile migratory journey to Brazil and back every year. We invite you to bring your kites and fly them during this celebration – we always seem to have plenty of wind blowing here at ARC!

American Eagle Day will be Saturday, June 16! Meet ARC’s resident Bald Eagles and learn all about them. American Eagle Day serves as an opportunity for Americans to celebrate the Bald Eagle and the remarkable recovery of this beautiful species.

There will be kids’ crafts and activities and refreshments at both events. Admission is free, but donations are always gratefully accepted. Join us for a fun-filled day of family fun and learn fascinating facts about raptors.

Upcoming Events

The next few weeks are going to be busy at ARC! We are pleased to be attending the Old Florida Outdoor Festival being held in Apopka on Febuary 11th & 12th. we will be there throughout the day with  birds on disply, a Bald Eagle, and the Harris Hawks will be flying too.

Henry will be hosting the annual Valentine Party at ARC on
Saturday Febuary 11 from 10am until 4pm. Come on out and make a special Heart-faced card and get your picture taken with our own Sweetheart Owl. We will be having a bake sale with loads of goodies too, so come on out!

ARC settles in for the winter months.

Winter is here and with it are shorter hours in the day and lots of colder nights ahead. We like the mild winters we often have in Florida, it makes for a really great time to come visit us at ARC on a Saturday and get some up close and personal time with your favorite bird of prey.

We display our education birds every Saturday from 10am until 3pm. After we get them safely put away we usually free fly the Harris' Hawks, from 3:30 to closing time at 4pm.  We often have off-site programs on Saturdays, so please call to confirm which birds will be on display if you have a favorite raptor you hope to see!

We will not have our Master Falconer here on January 7th, and will not be flying birds that day.
